On Saturday, December 7 at 5:00pm, the Golden Isles Community Chorus with local soloists and orchestra will perform Part I of Handel's beloved Messiah at Wesley UMC. The concert is to be conducted by Michael Jennings from First Baptist Church SSI, and will include several musicians from our Chancel Choir as part of the performing forces. While this is a free concert, a donation of $10 or more is suggested to help defray expenses. Please join us as we welcome our community for a time-honored tradition and prepare to receive the Christ-Child anew.
HELP DECORATE FOR ADVENT
Please join the Worship Committee in decorating Wesley for the Advent season. We will meet on Wednesday, December 4 at 9:30am and spend the better part of the day getting our lovely church ready for this special time of the year. Come for all or part of the day. It will be a lot of fun, and you will meet fabulous folks!
DECORATE THE WELL
Wesley Youth and the UMW are partnering together to decorate The Well in Brunswick for Christmas. All families and friends of Wesley are invited to join us on December 7 from 10:00am to 12:00pm to decorate trees, visit with members of The Well, and sing Christmas songs. No RSVP needed. Just show up! Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
2020 FLOWER CALENDAR
Each year, the Worship Committee asks assistance from the congregation to beautify the sanctuary. Weekly, two flower arrangements are placed near the altar to celebrate a special event or memorialize a loved one. These flowers are also used by Wesley's Flower Ministry to minister to the sick and homebound. To reserve a date, please sign the 2020 flower calendar located in the Breezeway. The Flower Basket will continue to provide us with flowers for the upcoming year, and the cost will remain $137. Thanks to all who have contributed to this important ministry.

DID YOU KNOW?
The paraments are now purple to signify the beginning of Advent. Advent is the first season of the Christian church year, which leads up to Christmas. It is the season of anticipation, hope, promise, and waiting for Jesus the Christ's birth. There are four Sundays in Advent. The color for this season is purple or royal blue.
ANGEL TREE IS HERE
Each year, the Wesley family supports our local Salvation Army and families at Burroughs-Molette by providing children with a Merry Christmas through the Angel Tree program. This ministry spreads the love of Christ’s birth with children who would otherwise go without gifts at Christmas. Stop by the Christmas tree in the Breezeway and pick up a tag, or two, and shop away.Instructions are in each tag and gifts are due back to the church on Monday, December 16, no later than 5:00pm. Thank you Wesley angels!
The Finance Committee thanks those who have contributed to Wesley this year. If you need to complete your pledge for 2019, please note that gifts must be received by the church or postmarked no later than December 31 to be included in 2019 giving statements.
