Your Wesley staff is with you, even while we’re social distancing! You can find all our online content on our Wesley Facebook page and our WesleySSI YouTube channel. And, of course, on Sunday mornings join us at https://wesleyssi.org/home-church for Home Church live streamed at 11:00am!
We all know too well the struggles and hardships associated with cleaning up after the devastation of a hurricane. Please consider a gift to UMCOR, either directly via this link: http://bit.ly/Wesley901670 or via the church office. Checks can be made to Wesley UMC with UMCOR Advance #901670 in the memo line and they will be forwarded to UMCOR relief. Thank you Wesley family!
CONNECTING IN CHRIST
Isaiah 61:1 says "The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoner." During these Covid times, many at Wesley have been putting this verse into action in amazing and creative ways by preparing meals for the sick, making phone calls, sending cards and flowers, serving at Manna House, and stocking the shelves at Sparrow’s Nest. These are all among the ways in which Wesley is reaching out. Zoom groups have been created to help connect and reconnect others in God’s Word. Through all the changes that Covid-19 has brought, there has never been a greater time or a greater need to reach people with the love and hope found in Jesus Christ. Please contact Paige Gober at the church office to learn ways you can connect through word and deed.

Maryellen Aiken would like to announce that the Lord has called her to continue family ministry outside the walls of Wesley, and is resigning from her position as the Children’s Ministry Director. Maryellen states: “These last seven years have been an amazing blessing to me. I have truly loved the children and my work in kids ministry. I am tremendously grateful for the generous support I’ve received from the Wesley congregation. God has used your time, talents, and treasure to plant many seeds for His Kingdom, and I am excited to watch them continue to grow!” The Aiken family will remain a part of Wesley and looks forward to volunteering in the future.
During this time would you consider a donation to the Sparrow’s Nest food ministry, which provides food to needy families in Brunswick? The box for non-perishable food items is located in the breezeway. Please be careful to check your expiration dates on goods donated. Canned vegetables, canned fruit, cereal, peanut butter and jelly, and Spaghettio's are all popular needs at the food pantry. The Wesley family has continued to be generous donors to this Faithworks’ ministry. All donations are greatly appreciated!
