COSTA RICA MISSION
Wesley is seeking to build a mission partnership with the community of Shiroles, Costa Rica to build a new church and make improvements in their community. The partnership begins October 2019 and we are seeking a team of adults to form our FIRST Mission Team! If you would like to learn more about our mission, please attend one of three informational meetings: Sunday, March 24, in the Celebration Hall at 12:00pm, Sunday, April 7, in the Celebration Hall at 10:00am, or Wednesday, April 10, at 6:00pm in the Youth Room. No reservation required, just show up! Email email@example.com for more information.
Bob Meredith's beautiful three-paneled oil painting of the Crucifixion is on display in the Robertson Chapel at Wesley. A beautifully scripted booklet with explanations and stories is provided to help viewers interpret this triptych presentation of the Crucifixion. All are welcome to come and view this art throughout the Lenten season at any time during the church's operational hours.
On Thursdays at Noon during Lent (through April 11), our Assistant Director of Music and Organist, Matthew Ganong, will present a series of free concerts approximately 45 minutes in length in our Sanctuary. Our wonderful Yamaha grand piano will be featured alone and in collaboration with other instruments and vocal solos. Come take a break from the business of the day and join us for these beautiful musical offerings.
At 6:00pm on Wednesday, March 20, we invite you to join us in the Sanctuary for a quiet, meditative service of Scripture, communion, and prayer. Prayer for healing will be offered regarding health, illness, or relationships lost or broken. If you desire prayer, we invite you to this worship service intended to minister to those needs.
Do you have a soon-to-be high school graduate in your house? We will honor all of our graduating students on Sunday, May 12, during the 10:45am worship service. If you would like your student to be a part of this special service, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to RSVP.
ENTER THE STORY
Wesley has joined forces with Hope 1312 Collective! The Hope 1312 Collective represents a unified body of churches who are committed to rewriting the story of child welfare in our community. Through partnering with the Hope 1312 Collective, our church family will be able to provide support and Christ’s love by meeting needs for both biological and foster families. If you would like to assist the Wesley Hope 1312 Collective as we ‘enter the story ’, please complete the response card found in your bulletin and place it in the offering plate. Questions? Contact our Wesley Hope 1312 Collective Team: WesleyUMCHope1312@gmail.com. Please pray for this important ministry in our community.

Easter Sunday is approaching quickly (April 21), and again this year the Worship Committee is offering hydrangeas for families to honor or memorialize a loved one AND beautify the church! Hydrangeas will be white and priced at $23 each. You will find that hydrangeas are beautiful and easy to plant in your yard. Look for the order form on the Narthex credenzas and in next week’s bulletin. Contact Sandy Dunlap with questions: email@example.com. Orders are due no later than April 10.
Wesley's annual Greeter Appreciation Dinner & Training will be held on Thursday, March 28, in the Celebration Hall at 6:00pm. Come kick off Spring with your Wesley family Wednesday, March 27! Starting at 5:00pm, the children of W@W will showcase some of their musical talents. Join us March 21 at 7:00pm when the Birmingham-Southern College Concert Choir will present a free concert at Wesley. Birmingham-Southern College is a highly selective, private liberal arts college and in many circles it is known as "The Harvard of the South." Its music department grew out of the formerly independent Birmingham Conservatory of Music. This year's Concert Choir continues to uphold the high musical and academic standards of BSC and is sure not to disappoint!
The Wesley Audio-Visual Ministry needs volunteers in the sound booth for Sunday services as well as other events. If you would like to volunteer in this vital area of ministry you may reach out to Jamie Forbes by email at email@example.com.
If your contact information has changed (address, cell/home phone, email address), or other significant changes have occurred in your household, please let us know. Email updates to firstname.lastname@example.org or call (912) 634-1412. Thank you for helping us to keep our records current.
ONLINE GIVINGThrough our website, we offer the convenience of online giving. Donors can pay their tithe, contribute to various funds, and establish recurring transactions, all with great ease. In the United Methodist Church, the Fourth Sunday of Lent (March 31, 2019) is designated as UMCOR Sunday (United Methodist Committee On Relief). Donations received on this day, along with other undesignated gifts made throughout the year, cover their cost of doing business. This allows 100% of all other specified relief contributions given at any other time to go directly where they are needed most. UMCOR does not receive any apportioned funds, so without our gifts, UMCOR would not exist. Donations on UMCOR Sunday and during the month of March are encouraged.
RILEY'S SOLES 4 SOULS
Since 2015, Riley's Soles 4 Souls has collected over 5,000 pairs of shoes, but the need is great. WAY Radio is partnering up with Riley's Soles 4 Souls and collecting new and gently used shoes for those in need through the month of March. Wesley is pleased to share in this partnership by becoming an official drop off location for these shoes. Look for the designated box in or near the Breezeway where you may place donations throughout the month of March.
WAEL COLOR RUN
WAEL's annual Color Run and Spring Festival will take place on Saturday, March 23! There's still time to register for a 5K or 1-mile fun run/walk. Opening ceremony will be at 8:30am, and running starts at 9:00am. In addition to the race entry fee, you can purchase a $10 wristband per child which will enable them to enjoy bounce houses, character pix, games, and more! All proceeds directly benefit improvements for our Preschool. Register online at https://tinyurl.com/y9dhytpd. Questions: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ushering is a great way to serve and support Wesley. Each of the four Usher Teams serve one Sunday per month. We are adding to the Usher Teams and there are numerous openings for anyone 21 and older. We invite men, women, and couples to participate in this ministry. A luncheon/training session is scheduled for Sunday, March 31, immediately following the 10:45 service. If you are interested, please contact Sandy Dunlap at email@example.com. Any questions, you may call Bob Cunningham, 270-6118. No experience necessary!
