There has been a change to our normal communion schedule. We are rescheduling communion that would normally have been this Sunday, August 1, now to next Sunday, August 8.
As a reminder, masks are optional, but not mandatory when attending services. We hope to see you there!
FAMILY FAITH DAY
Join us on Sunday, August 15 at 9:45am in the Celebration Hall for Family Faith Day as our children fall programming begins! We invite children and parents to come to join the festivities that will include food, fellowship, and information about faith-forming and fun opportunities that will present an opportunity for our young ones to grow in their relationship with God and each other.
BACK TO SCHOOL BLESSING
On Sunday, August 15, Pastor Jerry will administer a special family prayer and blessing over our students in both the 9:00am and 11:00am services. Kids will receive a reminder that Jesus goes with them, just like their backpacks do, into their schools. Welcome back, everyone!
Beloved Ministries helps single moms encounter and experience the transforming power and redemptive love of Jesus Christ by connecting them to each other and to Him. Through Christ, they can begin the restoration process of leaving a pit of ashes and becoming women of great beauty and worth. Our goal is to enable spiritual, emotional, and physical restoration. Join us on Tuesdays from 6:00pm-7:15pm at St. Simons Community church: 8/17, 8/31, 9/14, 9/28, 10/12, 10/26, 11/9, and at The Chapel BWK: 8/24, 9/7, 9/21, 10/5, 10/19, 11/2, and for Friendsgiving on 11/16, as well as for our Christmas Party on 11/30. It’s great to have the choir back this Sunday! You’ll also notice they will have left their robes hanging in the choir suite and will be wearing a comfortable “Wesley-Green Golf Shirt”! This entire month of August, we will be sporting these shirts in hopes that YOU will want one too! You don’t have to sign up to sing in the choir to get one because we will have some extras for sale in the narthex for $30.00 each. If for some reason we don’t have your size this Sunday, you can order one online at wesleyssi.org, or use the handy order/flyer in this Sunday's bulletin. We are also offering a couple of tee shirts for our tee shirt generation, youth and children. They come in the same Wesley-Green, or in black, both with our Wesley Oak logo on the front and a quote by John Wesley on the back. Our own Emily Lester designed the artwork for the shirts. Thank you, Emily! The proceeds of our choir’s shirt fundraiser will go toward maintenance on the organ. This Sunday's hymns are #14 & #12, (Holy, Holy, Holy, & Victory In Jesus, respectively) on Wesley’s Top 40 List of favorite hymns. Also on the chart, our Anthem this Sunday is #4, Because He Lives, with soloists, Gina and Jerry Roe. Thank you Gina & Jerry! We keep moving closer and closer to #1!
CHILDREN AND PARENTS
Can you believe it's almost August already?! This Sunday marks the beginning of a new month and the beginning of our new Children's Ministry series. This Sunday during Children's Church and Sunday School, our Elementary students will be introduced to our "Dig Deep" series that will explore God's wisdom while our preschool and Pre-K aged students will be introduced to our "Construction Zone" series that will explore God's power. We're excited to grow with your students this upcoming month!
STUDENTS AND PARENTS
Hey parents, we’re excited for the school year to almost be here. This Sunday we will only have high school leadership at 6:30pm to finish planning the fall semester. Following this Sunday we will be back to normal programming with some fun things coming this semester. As always please reach out to Logan if you have any questions. Looking forward to this coming year!

Each year, the Worship Committee asks assistance from the congregation to beautify the sanctuary. Weekly, two flower arrangements are placed near the altar to celebrate a special event or memorialize a loved one. These flowers are also used by Wesley's Flower Ministry to minister to the sick and homebound. We currently have two dates still available for 2021. They are August 22 and September 19. If you would like to reserve one of these dates, please contact the church office or sign the 2021 flower calendar located in the Breezeway. The cost of the flowers are $140. Thanks to all who have contributed to this important ministry.
