At Wesley, we are a proud supporter of music and the arts in our community. The Golden Isles Community Chorus and the Golden Isles Community MESSIAH Chorus both call Wesley home. Directed by our Director of Music, these choirs offer the opportunity for choral singers from throughout our community to lift their voices in song together. We also have volunteers who lead music in worship at Magnolia Manor on a monthly basis. Additionally, we support the mission and activities of the Golden Isles Community Band and the Coastal Brass Choir as they seek to build our community through music and education.

The Community MESSIAH Chorus is made up of choristers from all over the Golden Isles area. Of the over 100 members, most call St. Simons Island or Brunswick home, but many come from Jekyll Island, Jesup, Waverly, Conyers, Darien, and Kingsland. This group rehearses on Monday evenings in November from 6:30-8:30pm to present two concerts of the Christmas portion of Handel's “Messiah” on the first Saturday and Sunday in December.

We perform two concerts with the Magnolia String Quartet (Jacksonville, FL), organ, woodwinds, brass, and timpani. We always welcome new members. For more information, contact Debbie Vogel.

The mission of the Golden Isles Community Chorus is to spread the joy of choral music, encouraging and further developing choral singing in the Golden Isles by providing an opportunity for singers to join in a non-auditioned chorus to perform quality works from the choral and choral-orchestral literature. We present free concerts in an effort to enrich the cultural life of our community. Further, this group supports and works in harmony with other choral opportunities in our community, including the Golden Isles Community MESSIAH Chorus.
