The children’s music program seeks to provide age-appropriate music education in a Christian environment. The children are exposed to a variety of musical experiences, including musical guests, the musical instrument families, choir training, learning how to sing, and sight-read music. Experience with music at this age is very important and can foster a life-long love of music. Children are placed in age-specific groups.
ENSEMBLES & OPPORTUNITIES
MUSIC FOR GRADES K-1
Children will be led in a variety of musical experiences where, through singing, playing instruments, games, interactive play, and musical "field trips" (on site visits to the different musical instruments of the church), children will learn about music, about God, and that they have an important and special place in the life of the church and in worship.
MUSIC FOR GRADES 2-3
Children in grades 2 and 3 will sing, play handchimes (instruments created to prepare children to play handbells), play other instruments, and play musical games as they learn more about using music in worship and daily life.
MUSIC FOR GRADES 4-5
Children in grades 4-5 learn to play handbells and other instruments, sing, and play musical games as they grow in their musical knowledge and understanding of their role in music leadership in worship.
