Children’s Sunday will be observed this Sunday, October 15. Don't miss this precious time in the life of our church family when the children of Wesley participate as members of the Body of Christ, leading worship with special readings and music ensembles during the 9:00 and 10:45am services. Tie-dye paraments reflect our belief that when the red heart of the home mixes with the yellow light of Christ’s Church, we create “orange” children of God. As the colors and voices of the children and adults blend together, we all enjoy a beautiful and unique worship experience. Special thanks to our new Children's Music Associate, Mrs. Amy Miller, for her work with the children’s choirs. Contact Maryellen for your child to participate: (404) 213-6871 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
UMW: PECANS AND MISSIONSAgain this year, Wesley's United Methodist Women are selling pecans and English walnuts to raise money for local charities. FaithWorks, Morningstar, and other local charities have benefitted in previous years from your generous purchases. Pecans and English walnuts make wonderful stocking stuffers, gifts for neighbors and friends, dog/cat sitters, mail persons, and colleagues. Chocolate covered and glazed pecans are the perfect snack for watching TV. This year we will be selling pecan logs for only $5. Who wouldn't want 1-2 of those? We understand that part of the Georgia pecan crops was destroyed by the storms, but it did not affect our supplier, so be sure to order our pecans for holiday cooking. We will take orders before and after church on October 15 and 22. Order forms will be in the bulletin on those Sundays. Complete the form and give it, along with your check made out to Wesley UMW, to the ladies at the table in the breezeway. Orders will be available for pickup before and after church on November 12 and 19. Thanks in advance for supporting UMW and our local charities.
DISASTER RELIEF-ERTNatural disasters can overwhelm a community’s ability to respond. One way that the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) provides care to those suffering is by offering well-trained Emergency Response Teams. These teams are trained in proper response to the physical and emotional needs of individuals and communities. If you are interested in serving on a team, please sign up for the training. The cost is covered by the Wesley UMC Missions Committee. To register or for more information, email Judy Wood: email@example.com.

MUSIC/WORSHIP SURVEYSThank you to everyone who filled out a survey for the Music and Worship Committees addressing the 8:15 and 10:45am services. We received many helpful responses! While we can't honor every individual request, here are some items upon which the majority of you agreed: keeping the traditional UMC worship service and order of worship, maintaining excellence in our music ministry, continuing introits by the choir in the 10:45 service, and singing more familiar congregational hymns. Other information from the surveys will be continually referenced in future planning of the Worship Committee.
