There are three ways to help in the current crisis in Haiti: Please consider how you and your family can be a help in this time of crisis.
1. People can give money - Please make checks payable to Wesley United Methodist Church, marked Haiti Relief. All money will go to UMCOR, United Methodist Committee on Relief. 100% of your gift goes to relief. All administrative costs for UMCOR come out of apportionments.
2. College Place UMC is putting together Relief Health Kits - Rob Grotheer and the folks at College Place have offered to organize getting health kits to the UMCOR Sager Brown Depot in Baldwin, LA. Here is the information: The kits include the following items: 1 hand towel (15" x 25" up to 17" x 27". No kitchen towels. 1 washcloth 1 comb (large and sturdy, no pocket-sized) 1 nail file or fingernail clippers (no emery boards or toenail clippers) 1 bath-size bar of soap (3 oz. and up) 1 toothbrush (single brushes only in original wrapper, no child-size brushes) 6 adhesive plastic strip sterile bandages $1.00 to purchase toothpaste (toothpaste is purchased in bulk to be added to health kits to ensure that the product does not expire before they are sent) These new items are to be placed in a sealed one-gallon plastic bag. If you have any questions, please contact Rob Grotheer at 912-265-4883 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
3. Chad Robbins, with Mtn2Sea, a local Glynn County mission,
Mtn2Sea, a local Glynn County mission, has completed its first drive, sending 50,000 meals to those in dire need in Haiti. Another drive will begin, as funds become available. The second way to help is by volunteering to help pack the food. Another packing date for food is set for Feb. 13. This is not another "send a check" type project! We will be physically packing this food, which is manpower intensive (although not physically hard work) and volunteers will be needed. The number of volunteers needed will be determined on how much money we can raise to buy the food. Those in great need in Haiti will be receiving desperately needed food, donated and packed by caring people in Glynn County. If you cannot physically help pack the food, please consider helping us by contacting those that would like to help us financially meet our goal of helping those in such great need in Haiti. Those interested in donating, or volunteering to pack food, should contact Christie ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ). For more information, go to www.mtn2sea.com. TENTS are greatly needed!! Mtn2Sea asks that good condition used, or new tents, be dropped off at Go Fish, Pane in the Glass, or Culver and DeLoach. These will be shipped immediately to Haiti. Sign up with This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Our ministry has partnered with Kids Against Hunger over the past year. Many local organizations and families in need have benefited from this partnership. When you make your tax deductible check out to Mtn2Sea Ministries, 100% of the donation you send us will go straight to purchase the food supplies. Any administration or food delivery costs are provided by Kids Against Hunger. Please visit Kids Against Hunger's web site to find out more about the food we will be packaging and how the program works. Please contact us as soon as you can if you would like to help. This is a VERY time sensitive project, sense people's lives are literally depending on our/your help. If you would like to send a check, please make it payable to Mtn2Sea Ministries and put "Haiti Disaster Relief" on the check. Thanks Chad Robbins 111 Cater Street 912-275-1266
