In April 1987 fifty-five persons from the St. Simons United Methodist Church, with Bishop Frank Robertson as their founding pastor, formed a new congregation on the north end of St. Simons Island where John and Charles Wesley preached and ministered to the people at Frederica.  The new church was named Wesley United Methodist Church at Frederica.

We have had four pastors since that time:  Rev. Dr. Wright Culpepper, Rev. Tom Martin , Rev. Tim Steffen, and our present pastor, Rev. Dr. John Stephens.  

Our membership has continued to grow from 55 to over 1000 at the present time. We are a warm, friendly, caring church and we invite others to come and make our church your church.  At Wesley, there’s a place for you!
